Why
Join NAWBO?
As a national organization:
- we
have access to women business owners throughout the country
(and they to us);
- we
are recognized by the media in every state;
- we
have a strong voice in Washington and that voice is quite respected;
- we
are affiliated with Les Femmes Chefs d'Entreprises Mondiales
(World Association
of Women Business Owners) in 35 countries;
- we
are affiliated with the Center for Women's Business Research
(the premier source of knowledge about women
business owners and their enterprises worldwide. They provide
original, groundbreaking research to document the economic and social contributions
of women-owned firms);
- we
are affiliated with The International Alliance for Women (TIAW);
and
- we
have a National PAC (which researches and reports on business
issues to the membership,
and is open for every member to join);
- we
have a National Speakers Bureau (to which members can register
to be added or simply
use for their NAWBO or Business needs); and
- we have National RFPs (miscellaneous bidding opportunities).
Many of our Local and National Corporate Partners offer
discounts to our membership (UPS, Office Depot, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts,
to name a few).
All members have a say in how the organization can best serve
the needs of women business owners. They are encouraged to participate
on local, regional, and national committees to lend their particular
expertise to show, or to learn, how to implement processes to
accomplish meeting those needs.
We hold both an annual national business conference and
Public Policy Days in Washington DC. These meeting
offer wonderful support
and networking
experiences in addition
to educational breakout session. Each host city offers tours
around town and other social activities. It is customary for
the local political and corporate representatives to make an
appearance at one of the daily lunches or to offer special complimentary
activities or gifts.
NAWBO South Jersey
We present monthly programs at convenient hours (early morning,
noon, or early evening) and at varied locations (hotels, member
or partner locations, or meeting centers). Networking time is
scheduled into every program, and members, corporate partners,
associate organizations, and friends are invited to all of our
events.
Our programs are mini courses in business ownership. They take
you from start-up through to succession. Each monthly program may
not pertain directly to your business, but you will always learn
something that you will be able to pass on to an associate or a
client. Many members find that regular attendance builds relationships
that offer both personal support and business growth.
Individually, we don’t have time and resources to research
every industry, to check out business courses at every educational
facility, nor to advertise our business in every venue available,
but as NAWBO members, we do have the opportunity to take advantage
of the one membership that offers you all of those resources and
friendship, too. That is your membership into the National Association
of Women Business Owners. Send in your application today www.nawbosouthjersey.org.
