Mia Harris

For the May Member Spotlight, we are featuring Mia Harris, Belliard's Salon & Spa.

I’m Mia Harris, owner of Belliards Salon and Spa in Cherry Hill, NJ. We’ve proudly served our community for over 30 years, offering expert beauty and wellness services in a warm, inclusive, and professional environment. At Belliards, we believe in honoring both our guests and our team—cultivating a space where peace, authenticity, and personalized care come first. I’m passionate about wellness, legacy-building, and creating elevated, value-driven experiences for women of all backgrounds. Whether it's through spa parties, advanced skin care like nano-needling, or our upcoming chair massage-to-go service for workplaces, Belliards is always evolving to meet the real needs of modern women. I’m also proud to mentor the next generation, including my own children, as I plan for the future of the business and beyond.

What tip or tool has helped you in your business?

One of the most powerful tools that’s helped me grow Belliards is learning to step back and work on the business, not just in it. Through the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, I gained clarity around strategy, systems, and scaling. It taught me to see the bigger picture—focusing on leadership, vision, and profitability instead of getting stuck in the day-to-day. Also, listening—really listening—to both clients and my team has been a game-changer. When people feel seen and valued, everything else falls into place.

What’s a favorite quote that you’d like to share & inspire other members?

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” — Howard Thurman This quote reminds me to lead from purpose, not pressure—to build a business that reflects my values and lights me up from the inside out.

What is your go-to business, mindset or productivity book that has helped you in your life and business?

Two books that have truly impacted my journey are The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks and Fierce Conversations by Susan Scott. The Big Leap helped me understand how to move past self-imposed limits and fully embrace my “Zone of Genius.” Fierce Conversations taught me how to show up with clarity and courage in every conversation—whether with clients, team members, or even myself. Together, they’ve helped me lead Belliards with more authenticity, emotional intelligence, and purpose.

Tell us about your next upcoming business event so that we can share it with our members and followers.

I’m thrilled to invite you to the CASA Carnival Fundraiser at Belliards Salon and Spa on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15, 2025, from 1 PM to 5 PM (8 Grove Street, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002). This fun-filled community event will support CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)—an incredible organization that helps give a voice to children in the foster care system. We’ll have carnival-style games, food, entertainment, wellness experiences, raffles, and more—all in the spirit of giving back and making a difference. As a woman business owner, it’s important to me to use my platform not just for beauty and wellness, but also for advocacy and impact. I’d love for fellow NAWBO members to attend, share, sponsor, or donate raffle items to help us amplify this cause.
