For the April Member Spotlight, we are featuring Madelyn Geltch, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
As the Campaign Development Manager for the South Jersey Light The Night Walk, I have the privilege of bringing our community together to support those affected by blood cancers. I lead the fundraising and planning efforts for this signature event, working with local businesses, teams, and individuals to raise critical funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). These funds support groundbreaking research, patient support services, and advocacy efforts.
Light The Night is more than just a walk—it’s an evening of hope and remembrance. Participants carry illuminated lanterns: white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold in memory of those we've lost. It's a deeply moving experience that unites our community in the fight against cancer.
Every day, I get to collaborate with passionate volunteers, generous sponsors, and dedicated families who remind me why this work matters. Whether it’s helping a team hit their fundraising goal or seeing a survivor light the night sky with their lantern, it’s incredibly rewarding to be part of something that makes a real difference.

Build Genuine Relationships
Fundraising is more about people than dollars. Take time to get to know your donors, team captains, and sponsors. Personal touches—handwritten notes, check-in calls, celebrating milestones—go a long way. - Tell us about your next upcoming business event so that we can share it with our members and followers.
We are having our Leadership Launch at Subaru on May 21st. It will be hosted by our walk chair, and fellow NAWBO member, Carly Jordan. This event will start with networking and end with a half hour session on what Light The Night is and how we can work with the local community and companies to make an impact! You do not want to miss it!
