Member Monday: Lisa Lallo | Exponent
Exponent is a scientific and engineering consulting firm serving both industrial and litigation clients. The firm has experience in over 90 disciplines and is best known for analyzing and determining the cause of failures and accidents. Exponent also assists clients in research, new product development, human and environmental factors, and regulatory issues.
Dr. Lallo, an associate with the firm, has an interdisciplinary background in physics, mechanical engineering, and materials science and engineering. Dr. Lallo specializes in multi-scale mechanical and failure characterization of materials and has expertise in tribological testing of interfaces and surfaces to understand friction, adhesion, and wear phenomena of interacting components.
Dr. Lallo is a graduate of Saint Joseph’s University (B.S. Physics, summa cum laude, 2014) and went on to receive her Masters (2017) and Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania (2019) in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics. While at Penn, Dr. Lallo was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research fellow, received the John A. Goff Departmental award, was awarded the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers Philadelphia section student scholarship, and was granted the John Henry Towne Fellowship.
Dr. Lallo is a native of Delran and currently resides there with her husband. She is active in her local parish, St. Charles Borromeo (Cinnaminson), where she serves as the STEM fair judge for the school. In her free time, she enjoys golfing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and playing with her Italian Greyhound, Jake.
